Please make sure Lois has you email address.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The next meeting will be on the regular day, the third Thursday, May 19. (that is pretty soon!)<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our treasurer has $51.00 in the treasury.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mary Griffith donated a broom which was noted as needed at the last meeting.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thank you To Sally Shockey for the new display in the Magnolia Place Library. Jean Fortune made the title cards for the display, Thank you.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Donna Johnston will have another Hand Painted Bird House class. Sign up with her tonight. Classes will be offered in May:&nbsp; Thursdays May 12, 19, and 26<sup>th<\/sup>, with a Monday May 23 to make 4 afternoon classes. Another style birdhouse for this class will be furnished along with the paint. The cost of the class is $20 to pay for supplies. Class is limited so sign up with Donna Johnston, CT 220 now.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the last meeting interest was shown in a beginning drawing class. Donna Johnston is asking for those that are interested to let her know and she will make it happen. It will be scheduled once or twice a week as soon as the room is available, hopefully in June or July. Class size will be limited, and supplies will be furnished at cost.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Bee Healthy conference is to be offered this coming October. Donna Johnston suggested a Bee Creative table should be included as creativity is vital for good Mental Health.&nbsp; She has plans for a table to show some possibilities. It was also suggested that a working art lab could be happening at the same time. Folks could come in and see what the artists have to offer.&nbsp; If you are interested in helping with printing, collaging or other creative activity, talk to Donna Johnston.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jan Dame reported that Sue White would be emptying the display case outside the Art Gallery by 3:00 on May 1\u2019st. Please pick up your art pieces after 3:00. The next display will be going up on Sunday and will be taken down on May 31<sup>st<\/sup>. The June theme for the display case will be weddings, the July theme will be Mickey Mouse so dig out those mouse ears.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On May 9<sup>th<\/sup> Wanda Mann will change out the hallway gallery. Pieces by Tom Naylor, Susan Williams and Jan Dame have been on display and will be moved to Magnolia Place.&nbsp; Leon Harp, Ray Baldwin and Deborah Hooper Campbell are the new artists in the Hillcrest Hallway Gallery.&nbsp; If you are interested in displaying one of your works in the hallway, they must have D rings on back connected by wire to hang the piece.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go by the Magnolia library and look at the wonderful bird houses painted in the last workshop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also on display in the library are books with pages folded, you need to go see It!!<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Show and tell<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jane Jones and Jan Dame showed watercolors using Japanese Masa Paper which Jane taught in her last class.&nbsp;Jane also showed and discussed her big abstract floral.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leon Harp showed his first oil painting which he painted in 1951.&nbsp; He continues his art through college and became an architect.&nbsp;&nbsp; The biggest building, he designed was the Grand Hotel of Acapulco.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mary Lou Smith showed a brush painting in black ink done in Ann Garrard\u2019s class.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tom Calvert, who donated art supplies to the studio, showed 3D wooden carousel which he assembled and painted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Marcia Snyder showed her crazy paint brush with a face on it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Claudia Bird showed her Iris quilt.
