HIGHLAND SPRINGS RESIDENT, ARMY
After receiving my BS in math, Spring, 1960, I was drafted into the Army. I served from August 30, 1960 through August 29, 1962.
Basic training was at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, September and October. My first assignment was The Army Pictorial Center, Long Island City, NY. I was there from November 1960 through September 1961. That is where training films are made, and I know nothing about film making.
The Army then transferred me to The Army Electronic Proving Ground, Ft. Huachuca, AZ. That is where I concluded my draftee time October 1961 through August 1962. I, at least, had a better feel for what to do. As a result, I worked on some equipment that was sent to Vietnam for the war effort.
