Resident Guides

A resident-led volunteer program for welcoming new residents to Highland Springs.

Volunteers provide one-on-one initial support and guidance for activities, dining venues, etc. The Program members (Guides) work closely with Highland Springs staff and are an integral part of helping new residents become a part of the Highland Springs family.

Our mission is to provide a personal welcome to new Highland Springs residents close to their move-in date.
—  We work in coordination with the Highland Springs Resident Life Team.
—  We provide a point-of-contact for new residents.
—  We encourage assimilation into the community.
—  We rely on volunteer residents.

Who can be a Resident Guide? Any Highland Springs resident is welcome to join the program.

What are the requirements? Anyone willing to meet-and-greet new residents becomes a valued team member. Participation in an orientation session provided to each Guide is required prior to assignment. This prepares you for your service.

How much time is required? Being assigned as a Resident Guide requires about two hours during the month an assignment is made. This includes a pre-move-in phone call, greeting the new resident within the first few days of move-in and inviting them to dinner, etc. You can expect about three or four assignments per year.

We hope you will show us your interest by completing a volunteer registration form.
