2-1952 to 3-1952: Rank Cpl. Travel to Korea Via Ship, Train and Plane. Ship docked in Yokohama, Japan, board a train to get a plane to fly to K-2, Teague, Korea. Seasick most of the way.
3-1952 to 1-29-1953: Rank Cpl. Promoted to A1C Assigned to Headquarters 5th AF, Teague, Korea in the Officers Records Division. Medals awarded while in Korea: Korean Service Medal w/ 3 BSS, ROK Pres Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. 1-22-1953 Received Letter of Appreciation from my Commanding Officer. 1-29-1953 to 11-30-1954 Rank A1C Promoted to S/Sgt Assigned to 36th Comm Sq, 575th AF Group, Selfridge AFB, Mt Clements, MI. 4-21-1953 Assigned to Hq, Hq Sec, Officers Records, Tenth AF, Selfridge, AFB, MI. Received Good Conduct Medal. 2nd Son was born (3-26-1954) on the base. Discharged from the Air Force on 11-30-1954.
