Memorial Day Ceremony at Highland Springs Veterans Memorial Park. May 2023
Memorial Day is our nation’s day to remember those who perished giving their all for the nation. It began as a simple act of honoring and adorning with flowers the graves of those who were killed in our country’s wars. At Highland Springs we take the time to honor those who gave it their all.
Sponsored by our Veterans Affairs Group, we observe the day with a symbolic decoration of the graves of the fallen.
The photographs following show our May 2023 ceremony at the Memorial Park where a flower wreath was placed on our Fallen Soldier Statue and our bugler played taps. In the past several years, we have held the ceremony in the Arts and Entertainment room, across the street, keeping the solemnly, the presentation of the Colors and the playing of Taps.
