1. Resident or former resident who is a US Military veteran who had served on active duty as a member of the US Army, US Marines, US Navy, US Air Force, US Space Force, or US Coast Guard.
2. Deceased US Military veteran who served as described in 1 above and whose spouse is a resident.
3. Resident or former resident who served for 20 years or more as a member of the US Army National Guard, US Air National Guard, US Army Reserve, US Marine Corp Reserve, US Naval Reserve, US Air Force Reserve, or US Coast Guard Reserve.
4. Resident or former resident who served on federal active duty in a combat theater as a member of the US Army National Guard, US Air National Guard, US Army Reserve, US Marine Corp Reserve, US Naval Reserve, US Air Force Reserve, or US Coast Guard Reserve.
5. Resident or former resident who served on Active Duty for Training as a member of the US Army National Guard, US Air National Guard, US Army Reserve, US Marine Corps Reserve, US Naval Reserve, US Air Force Reserve, or US Coast Guard Reserve.
6. Highland Springs employee who is a US Military veteran as described above and with a minimum of 5 years employment at Highland Springs.
7. The eligibility criteria include but is limited to the following family members of a resident: spouse, siblings, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren who were also military veterans and who served as described above.
8. Exceptions to the above policy may be approved by vote of a majority plus one of the members of the Veterans Affairs Group Board present at the time the vote was taken (see also # 10 below).
9. The thirteen voting members for the Veterans Affairs Group Board are as follows:
a. Officers: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer
b. Committee Chairs: Brick Sales and Installation, Holiday Flag, Special Events, Veterans Memorial Park and Membership.

10. Members who are absent from a vote may assign an officer to vote by proxy.
11. Members who hold more than one position will have a single vote.
